15.08.250 – Private dwelling - Window protection

  1. A window shall be so constructed that when the window is locked, it cannot be lifted from the frame.
  2. Window locking devices shall be capable of withstanding force of three hundred pounds applied in any direction.
  3. Sliding glass windows shall meet or exceed the Architectural Aluminum Manufacturers Association standards as set forth in their bulletin, AAMA 1302.3-1971.
  4. Louvered windows, except those above the first story, shall not be permitted.
