10.40.030 – Emergency regulations - Authority

  1. The Chief of Police shall make and enforce temporary regulations to cover emergencies as public safety or convenience may require relating to the movement, parking, or standing of vehicles.  No such temporary regulations shall remain in effect beyond the next regularly scheduled city council meeting after the adoption of such regulation, except the area defined by the Downtown Special Services Area (SSA) generally bordered by the Union Pacific Railroad tracks on the north, Indiana Street on the south, Third Avenue on the east, and Fourth Street on the west.
  2. The Director of Public Works is authorized and directed to cause appropriate signs to be erected and maintained in those areas designated by the Chief of Police pursuant to Subsection A above.
